Mobile search makes your Google Places listing more important than ever

You’ve seen the commercials, or perhaps even done it yourself. You’re out and about, suddenly remember you need to pickup flowers for your Mother’s birthday. You grab your smart phone, say “Florist” and instantly have a map, phone number and reviews of local florists at your fingertips.

With the rise of smart phone use in the US, (Google Android and iPhone are currently reporting roughly 500,000 activations a day ) it’s more important than ever to have your Google places listing up to speed because when people use voice search on  Android phones, the first results they see are from Google local.
